Pekanbaru, 30 July 2026 — The Public Consultation on the REDD+ Architecture Documents of Riau Province was held on Friday, 30 July 2026. This forum marked an important part of the development process for GREEN for Riau strategic documents, which are being prepared in a participatory, transparent, and inclusive manner.
During the public consultation, seven GREEN for Riau strategic documents were presented by technical experts and discussed by reviewers and forum participants. These documents are being prepared to strengthen the foundation for jurisdictional REDD+ implementation in Riau Province.
GREEN for Riau opens space for communities, civil society organizations, academia, government institutions, the private sector, women’s groups, Indigenous Peoples, local communities, vulnerable groups, media, and other stakeholders to provide inputs, questions, corrections, and recommendations on these strategic documents.
Public participation is an important part of ensuring that Riau Province’s REDD+ architecture documents are developed in a more open, accountable manner and are aligned with needs and conditions at the site level.
