GREEN for Riau Congratulates Himyul Wahyudi on His Election as Chairman of the Daily Executive Board of AMAN Riau Region

Pekanbaru, 2026 — GREEN for Riau Initiative congratulates and extends its congratulations on the election of Himyul Wahyudi as Chairman of the Daily Executive Board of the Indigenous Peoples' Alliance of the Archipelago (AMAN) Riau Region for the 2026–2031 period.

Himyul Wahyudi's election is expected to further strengthen the role of indigenous communities in protecting forests, land, peat ecosystems, biodiversity, and local wisdom values, which are essential to the identity and sustainability of Riau Province.

GREEN for Riau views indigenous communities as key actors in the green development agenda, environmental protection, and strengthening inclusive and equitable natural resource governance. The future leadership of AMAN Riau Region is expected to continue strengthening collaboration between indigenous communities, local governments, civil society organizations, academics, and development partners.
