The main objective of GREEN for Riau is to establish Riau Province as a recognized, high-integrity jurisdictional REDD+ program capable of effectively generating, receiving, and managing results-based payments from both public and private sources.
Through verified emission reductions, credible governance, inclusive benefit sharing, and sustainable financing, Riau is expected to make a significant contribution to the FOLU Net Sink 2030 ambition at both national and provincial levels, while delivering long-term benefits for forests, peatlands, biodiversity, communities, and sustainable regional development.
