Pekanbaru, 2026 — The GREEN for Riau Initiative congratulates and wishes success to the winners of the "Time to Work for the Climate" Poster Competition, held to commemorate World Environment Day 2026.

The poster competition was held on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Hang Nadim Gallery in Pekanbaru City, Riau. A total of 17 participants participated in the competition across two categories: junior high school (SMP/Equivalent) and senior high school (SMA/SMK/Equivalent).

Participants, from various schools in Pekanbaru City and the surrounding areas, were given two hours to express their creativity in environmental-themed posters. Through these visual works, the students conveyed messages about the importance of protecting the earth, caring for the environment, and playing a role in climate action.

Three winners were selected from each category. Judging was conducted by a panel of judges consisting of representatives from the Hang Nadim Gallery, the Riau Provincial Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), and the Riau Provincial Environment and Forestry Agency (DLHK). The panel assessed the entries based on artistic aspects, creativity, and the depth of their environmental message.

The winners of the "Time to Work for the Climate" Poster Competition are as follows:

Junior High School/Equivalent Level

  • 1st Place - Angelica Dian Putri — SMPN 4 Pekanbaru
  • 2nd Place - Akeyla Dewica — SMP Cendana Rumbai
  • 3rd Place - Vadel Atharizz Khalif — SMPN 4 Pekanbaru

Senior High School/Vocational High School/Equivalent Level

  • 1st Place - Naqita Asyifa Wisha — SMAN 1 Pekanbaru
  • 2nd Place - Zaky Dhaifullah Hafidz — SMAN 1 Pangkalan Kerinci
  • 3rd Place - Oriza Sativa — SMKN 5 Pekanbaru

GREEN for Riau congratulates the winners on their achievements. We hope this achievement will inspire the younger generation to continue speaking out about environmental and climate issues, both within their schools, families, and communities.

The voices of the younger generation are crucial in fighting for a greener, fairer, more inclusive, and more sustainable future for Riau. Through creativity, awareness, and concrete action, students can become agents of change in a collective movement to protect the environment.
