Pekanbaru, 2026 — The GREEN for Riau Initiative announced the winners of the 2026 "Green Riau from the Grassroots" Online Photography Competition, held to strengthen the GREEN for Riau Program's public campaign.

This competition provides a platform for the public and students to share their perspectives on the natural beauty, community life, and the spirit of environmental protection in Riau Province through photography.

GREEN for Riau expresses its appreciation to all participants who participated and submitted their best work. Each submitted photo presents a unique visual story about the relationship between humans, the environment, forests, peatlands, biodiversity, and the daily lives of the Riau community.

Through the theme "Green Riau from the Grassroots," this competition encourages the public to re-examine the importance of environmental action at the grassroots level. Environmental awareness is not only evident in major policies and programs, but also grows from the initiatives of citizens, communities, students, and local communities who continue to protect their living spaces.

After a judging process by a panel of judges based on theme suitability, creativity, visual quality, and message strength, GREEN for Riau is proud to announce the following winners:

General Category

  • 1st Place - Doddy Vladimir
  • 2nd Place - Domi Yanto
  • 3rd Place - Wawan

Junior High/High School/Equivalent Student Category

  • 1st Place - Rafa Rinaldi
  • 2nd Place - Wenny Syafitri Astika

GREEN for Riau congratulates the winners. It is hoped that the resulting works will continue to inspire the public to protect forests, peatlands, rivers, wildlife, and the environment in Riau Province.

This photography competition also serves as part of an effort to expand public literacy regarding climate action, low-emission development, and the important role of communities in preserving ecosystems. Through visual works, environmental messages can be conveyed in a more intimate, powerful, and easily understood way to a wide range of audiences.

GREEN for Riau hopes that the participants' enthusiasm will continue to grow into a collective movement to support a greener, more resilient, more inclusive, and more sustainable Riau.
