High-Level Dialogue and Strategic Partner Meeting on “Unlocking Nesting for High-Integrity Jurisdictional REDD+ Implementation and Carbon Markets in Indonesia”

The High-Level Dialogue and Strategic Partner Meeting on “Unlocking Nesting for High-Integrity Jurisdictional REDD+ Implementation and Carbon Markets in Indonesia” will be convened to coincide with the visit of Ms Ruth Davis, the UK Special Representative for Nature. This provides a timely strategic opportunity to discuss how greater clarity on nesting can help create the conditions for credible jurisdictional REDD+ implementation and stronger private sector engagement in Indonesia.

The dialogue will focus on the broader national importance of nesting, while drawing selective lessons from Green for Riau initiative. It will examine how clearer nesting arrangements can strengthen integrity, reduce uncertainty for market participants, and improve the enabling environment for future jurisdictional carbon market transactions.

The meeting is expected to reinforce strategic collaboration among government institutions, development partners, the private sector actors, civil society organizations and other stakeholders to identify priority areas for follow-up support to advance high-integrity jurisdictional REDD+ in Indonesia.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Hotel Mandarin Oriental Jakarta.
