Description

In Islamic teachings, zakat and almsgiving are not only instruments of social worship, but also means of equitable distribution of welfare and protection of life. The use of social and religious funds for productive and sustainable activities reflects the principle of welfare (maslahah) and human responsibility as khalifah fil ardh (vicegerents) in maintaining harmony between social welfare and environmental sustainability.

This approach aligns with the concept of green investment, which encourages economic strengthening of communities surrounding forests through sustainable businesses, social forestry, ecosystem restoration, and sustainable natural resource management. These values align with the Green for Riau movement, which promotes community empowerment, forest and peatland protection, emission reduction, and sustainable development in Riau Province.
