Description

In the Christian faith, the Earth and all that is in it are God’s creation, entrusted to human beings to be cared for, not exploited. Humans are called to be stewards who care for nature with responsibility.

Every church family is called to care for the Earth together as an expression of gratitude for the gift of life.

This message was conveyed by Reverend Sutrisno, S.Th., Chairperson of the Communion of Churches in Indonesia, Riau Region (PGIW Riau), who invited the faithful to live out the spirit of moderation and sufficiency: the courage to say “enough” and to manage nature not with greed, but with gratitude and a sense of enough.

Forests are not merely collections of trees. They are home to many living beings, including elephants, tigers, orangutans, and various other animals and plants. Therefore, protecting forests from fires and logging is an important part of maintaining the balance of nature and caring for the wholeness of God’s creation.

Through this message, PGIW Riau also expresses its support for GREEN for Riau in protecting nature and safeguarding forests for today’s life and future generations.

Let us work together to protect forests, protect nature, and protect life.

Shalom. God bless. 🌿
